UFCW Essential Workers Applaud Election of Mia Bonta to Represent AD 18

Sacramento, CA – Today, the United Food and Commercial Workers Western States Council applauded the election of Mia Bonta to represent the communities of Assembly District 18. Mia Bonta replaces former Assemblymember Rob Bonta, who was appointed to serve as California’s Attorney General. The following statement may be attributed to Jim Araby, Director of Strategic Campaigns, UFCW Local 5:

“UFCW’s essential workers knocked on doors and made phone calls and social media posts to let their neighbors, friends and family know Mia Bonta is the voice AD 18 needs in the State Assembly, and we’re glad the voters of AD 18 felt the same. We know Mia will be an unwavering champion in the state legislature for California’s working families and we look forward to working with Mia in her new role as Assemblymember to ensure there are good-paying jobs and protections for workers and working families can thrive as the economy recovers.”
