UFCW Essential Workers Endorse Mia Bonta to Represent AD 18

Sacramento, CA – Today, the United Food and Commercial Workers Western States Council announced its endorsement of Mia Bonta, who is running to represent the communities of Assembly District 18. If elected, Mia Bonta would replace former Assemblymember Rob Bonta, who was appointed to serve as California’s Attorney General. The following statement may be attributed to Jim Araby, Director of Strategic Campaigns, UFCW Local 5:

“UFCW’s essential workers know Mia Bonta will be an unwavering champion in the state legislature for California’s working families – in AD 18 and beyond. The Assembly needs powerful voices like Mia’s advocating for good-paying jobs and protections for workers, making sure working families can thrive as the economy recovers, increasing access to child care, and fighting for housing affordability and an end to homelessness. As someone who knows firsthand the challenges UFCW members face, Mia is the right person to represent the diverse neighborhoods of AD 18, and we are proud to support her candidacy.”
