Sacramento, CA – Today, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Western States Council applauded the election of Dr. Jessica Crowley, PharmD, as Vice President of the California State Board of Pharmacy. The Board of Pharmacy is tasked with protecting and promoting the health and safety of Californians by pursuing the highest quality of pharmacists’ care and the appropriate use of pharmaceuticals through education, communication, licensing, legislation, regulation, and enforcement.
“I’m honored the Board of Pharmacy felt I was fit to serve the people of California as Vice President of the Board and ensure the profession of pharmacy and pharmacists’ role in patient care is centered in every action of the Board,” said Dr. Jessica Crowley, PharmD, and member of UFCW Local 770. “It’s critical to have practicing pharmacists’ voices on the Board so the Board can act with patients’ best interest at heart and can be flexible with its decisions in an ever-changing industry. As California’s population continues to diversify, pharmacists’ roles will continue to expand and they need the proper training and support to provide equitable, quality care for all patients.”
“Jessi is a tireless advocate for her patients, pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy in California,” said Kathy Finn, President, UFCW Local 770. “Her continued service on the Board will ensure that pharmacists have a voice in shaping their profession at the highest level in our state and that, by putting safety first, patients will receive the highest possible level of care.”
Crowley was appointed to the Board of Pharmacy in 2022.
