UFCW Members Celebrate Election Night Victory for Pro-Worker Candidate Gavin Newsom

Sacramento, CA – Today, the 200,000 working members of the United Food and Commercial Workers, Western States Council celebrated the role working people played in electing Gavin Newsom, a Governor who will stand up for California’s workers and help create quality jobs that support families and communities. The following statement can be attributed to Jim Araby, Executive Director, United Food and Commercial Workers Western States Council:

“UFCW members are the people who keep our state’s food safe, protect our patients and invest in our communities; we worked hard to elect Gavin Newsom as Governor because he shares our commitment to affordable health care, criminal justice reform and workers’ right to have a voice on the job. We can’t wait to get to work alongside the Governor-elect to create good jobs and opportunities for our children.”
