Sacramento, CA – The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Western States Council today announced that the Executive Board has reelected Mark Ramos, president of UFCW Local 1428, to serve as council president. The Executive Board also reelected Kirk Vogt, secretary-treasurer of UFCW Local 8-Golden State, as secretary-treasurer of the council, and Andrea Zinder, president of UFCW Local 324, as recorder of the council.
Their terms will be from January 1, 2025, until December 31, 2027.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to lead the UFCW Western States Council and our fight to ensure the working class in California, Arizona and Nevada thrives,” said Mark Ramos, president, UFCW Western States Council and UFCW Local 1428. “Unions create opportunities for our families, our children and our communities, and they are especially important as we look ahead to challenging years that put profits over people. Right now, we need advocates who are passionate about protecting workers’ rights on the job, their ability to join a union, and leading on wages and benefits. I know this team is the right team for the job and look forward to working with them for another two-year term.”
